Subject: [TakomaPark] Food cuts to Small Things Matter
Hi all!
We received some unfortunate news from Montgomery County. They've decided to
cut back on their weekly donations of fresh produce to us starting next week.
The cuts are deep and effectively ends weekly produce deliveries to Takoma Park
apartments: Hamsphire Tower, Essex House, and Ward 3 hubs: Cambridge, Parkview,
Edinburgh, as well as Silver Spring apartments : Langley Gardens and University
Landing.
Weekly produce donations for our TP/SS community distributions will also be
reduced by 20%. This food is used to help TP families at Park Richie and Maple
View apartments .
Together the loss is approximately 3000 lbs of food/week.
Our food rescue efforts are large, but it is not enough to cover the loss of

of self, in kind, and monetary donations. Together we've been able to share
fresh produce, meat, eggs, pantry items, hygiene/cleaning kits, clothing,
books, and hot meals in our community. Emoji
