Hi there, we have a lot of large oaks, including a huge “venerable elder” oak
tree, that must be well over 200 years old. Bartlett has so far saved all our
oaks with its care over the years, which has included regular nourishing,
treating when against insects when necessary, even as a precaution during that
last infestation, and regularly removing dead branches. They even strengthened
one large beautiful oak with 5 steel rods when the direcho twisted it,
tightening the rods helped it heal. It is still here. Chris Larkin, their
local arborist, stops by frequently to check on how things are going. Saving
trees is primarily what they do, sometimes in amazing ways and certainly not
like other firms we have tried.
The emphasis of Adirondack has been removing trees for as long as I can
remember. I’m sure they do an excellent job.
So if you really love and want to save your oaks, I recommend Bartlett Tree
Experts.
There has been a lot of research that trees communicate with each other through
their underground root systems, a forest does better than a single isolated
tree. They seem to need community. Saving our trees is important for keeping
our shared forest here healthy.
Sorry for being so long-winded, I’m passionate about trees.🙏

I have used Bartlett.
FWIW, Adirondack told me that treatment is only about 50% effective. We lost
one tree that was treated, but continue to treat my two other large ones. I
want to do what I can to preserve the others I have. It is not cheap, but
cheaper than cutting a tree down.

Hello all,
Does anyone have recent recommendations for arborists who can help save
existing oak trees?
I've lost two oaks in the last two years. Don't want to lose any more if I
can help it.
Thanks,
