I’ll check again with Public Works on timing for the replacement parts, and
also check with staff on the cleanup protocols for the Park.

The crack is why they’re replacing it. Public Works was supposed to receive
replacement parts by end of August from what I had been told.

It looks like the horizontal beam on the top of the swing set has a crack.

Good question in the swings. I go over and swing on occasion myself.

I’m also wondering about the removal of swings and tape around the

Subject: [north-takoma] Re: Belle Ziegler trash
I inquired about this some years ago. The city seems to take a laissez
faire attitude about this. I don't think you need to reserve and there
is no fee as far as I am aware. At a minimum signs should be posted
about cleaning up trash.
The party was as big as any I have seen, probably well over 50 in
attendance. Lots and lots of cars. The city did just come by and
empty the trash cans, as I have seen them do many times in the past on
the weekends.
Some years ago at the beginning of a very hot weekend, some folks were
having a crab feast in the pavilion. I suggested that they take their
crab pickings with them as the smell would have been awful after a
couple of days in the hot sun. They did not take my suggestion and
left them there.

I could hear a big party going on there last evening. I often wonder
how many people actually pay the $75 fee for the pavilion. I think
this may cover the costs of cleanup and emptying trash cans, but not
sure.

I tried cleaning it up as best I could. Weirdly, an empty trash can
was 15 feet away. But I know for some people that extra effort is just
too hard.

A hearty shout-out to the folks who left trash all over the playground
area this weekend at Belle Ziegler. Picnic tables and ground this
morning are littered with soda cans, food, and plates.
