Jeff, I'm not sure if you were including my family and I in your 150 votes,
but if not, please make that 154 "yes" votes!
As children to one rising 7th grader at TPMS and one future TPMS student, I
would also like to express my deep satisfaction for the TPMS expansion
effort. While altering sledding routes and fireworks viewing admittedly
does adversely impact the community for the 1-5 days out of the year where
there are fireworks and/or enough snow for sledding, I for one believe it
is a small price to pay for our kids having a better learning experience
during a critical moment in their cognitive and behavioral development.

As you know, the fireworks are very popular. We went to Cardoza High
School on 13th St this year to look at the fireworks on the mall.
We have enjoyed going to the TP fireworks rather than trying to see the
fireworks on the mall. Looking at the construction at the middle school, I
wonder whether the experience will be the same for the spectators? A lot
of the area where people used to sit now has the school addition on it.
Maybe once construction is completed there will be more spectator space,
but that is not obvious to me. I also lament the changes to the old
sledding hill over there. A great place to go sledding years ago.

One of the items to be discussed is a fireworks-related evening program. It
has been 2 years since the celebration included fireworks. Prior to that
fireworks, weather permitting, were apart of every Fourth of July evening
program. As I mentioned it has been 2 years and perhaps attitudes change.
Just sending out a feeler to find out whether you think we should plan to
include evening fireworks as part of the 2022 evening program. Purchase of
fireworks occurs during October-November. Hope we will all be together.
