Before signing up for mosquito spraying, note that even though it’s organic
based it will kill much more than just mosquitos- likely they are using
permethrin-based insecticides which will kill other insects as well. If they
are treating standing water it is likely they use a much more targeted
microbial solution.

Thank you so much, Bob. I’m rushing now, so will respond in more detail
later, but I just wanted you to know how comforting I found this note!

I just got AirPod pros and they work really well for cancelling out
background noise from stuff like that!

end of Takoma and around corner on Baltimore have once a month. For about
a year starting in 2019 (or the onset of the Pepco road project) we all had
a swamp in our back yards due either Pepco project or to a change in the
water table and underground streams. We could never determine, Pepco of
course took no responsibility. As a precaution that first summer, before we
knew what to do to remedy, we contracted with the organic mosquito sprayer
because we imagined we’d be a horrible breeding ground for mosquitos. We
have all done swale installations since and remedied the issue somewhat:
you can’t control underground streams and where they bubble up seems to
move around. At any rate we have continued the spraying because it is
relatively inexpensive if you get a group rate and very effective: we can
all enjoy our yards now when we really couldn’t before. Sorry for the
noise. It’s 5 times a year, May-September Maybe noise cancelling
headphones would be a good investment? They worked for me at the height of
the cicada invasion- that relentless noise did give me a headache although
leaf blowers and other garden noises don’t- different frequencies I guess
affect each of us in different ways.

things usually are. My head is about to explode. Help!
If it’s your house, maybe talk to the company making the noise to see if
they might be willing to invest in less internally noisy equipment?
