Check to see if the catalyic converter is still there - it would normally be
under the back of the car, right near the muffler in the exhaust system. it's
possible that someone stole it.

Subject: [north-takoma] Bricks Under Car Tires?
Hi Neighbors,
It's a long shot, but I'm wondering if anyone can shed light on this. I came
out to my car this morning to find that 1) it is making a horrible grinding
sound about 10 seconds after turning it on, and 2) someone had placed bricks in
front of my right-side (front and back) tires.
Does anyone know why someone would put bricks in front of my tires? My car was
parked in front of my house, where I have always parked it for the past 12
years or so. Is this related to the grinding sound? (I removed the bricks,
but the car still makes the sound - the sound isn't coming from trying to drive
over the bricks.) There is also a gas smell, and I did get gas the last time I
drove it.
Thanks to anyone who can play Sherlock Holmes on this!
