Mostly because any policies would have to come from me, and I don’t feel
empowered or qualified to make these decisions for my neighbors.
Over the years what I have found is that the listserve is pretty good at
self-policing. If there is a post that bothers enough people, there will be an
uproar and a flurry of posts, and the problem goes away. If anyone is bothered
by this process, may I suggest how I handle it. This is delete, delete, delete,
delete, etc.
If you pay attention to this as I do, you will find that generally any uproar
dies down within days, and the issue is settled.
