All,
I recently took over for Jeff Wright and would like to thank him for his
time and energy for the job he did. As part of the responsibilities I will
be lining up future Birdwalks.
So I just wanted to get these out there since we will not meet until
September. The first birdwalk will be in conjunction with the Picnic on
September 10th. The second one will be Tangier Island on Monday September
24th. This year will be like last year, where you are responsible for
obtaining Ferry Tickets to Tangier. According to the website, tickets are
$30 for round trip, boat leaves at 10am and returns to Reedville at 4:15pm.
October tentative schedule will be the Laurel Grove Tract, Rappahannock
River Valley NWR on Monday October 8th. I believe this is Columbus Day, I
am not sure how that holiday is celebrated though. Later in the Month I am
trying to line up Smith Island for a birdwalk. Just need to work out the
details of getting us their and back and what the cost might be.
