KCGC is the King Carter Golf Course, located south of Kilmarnock just off
Irvington Road. HQ is Hills Quarter, the community associated with the
golf course. NNAS is the Northern Neck Audubon Society.

The resident killdeer (killdeers?) have a 'nest' at one of the parking lot
entrances. If you can call a depression among rocks a nest. The female is
bravely protecting 4 eggs that are camouflaged in the rocks. The resident
redheaded woodpecker was spotted again this week. The martin gourds that
have been adopted by the tree swallows are on a mechanism that allows the
gourds to be lowered to ground level for checking. Today, both parents
were perched at the peak as Mac checked on the tree swallow babies. And
when the gourds were raised back to their high position, one of the parents
entered even before Mac could tie off the rope.

Here are the trail details:
Partial nests: 2.
Complete nests, no eggs: 3.
BB eggs: 26? One female did not leave the nest.
Titmouse young: 3 (One of the eggs was bad).
BB young: 5.
Tree swallow young: 5.
BB fledged: 7 (From 2 boxes).
Bluebirds fledged for the season: 34.
Chickadees fledged for the season: 15.
