KCGC is the King Carter Golf Course, located south of Kilmarnock just off
Irvington Road. HQ is Hills Quarter, the community associated with the
golf course. NNAS is the Northern Neck Audubon Society.

Last week, we had our first fledges of the season. More fledges are added
today. That places us into our 2nd brood phase of the season. And there
are some encouraging signs, despite all the continuing empty boxes. There
are some complete nests in boxes that have been empty all season. The
first tufted titmouse nest of the season is now in brood mode. The
titmouse nest was first called a chickadee nest, because they are so
similar. But today, the TT female was staring at me when I opened the
box. A young looking great blue heron was spotted at the pond on #3. And
the first spotting of the year of the resident red headed woodpecker near
the community center.

Here are the trail details:
Complete nests, no eggs: 5.
BB eggs: 18.
Titmouse eggs: 4.
BB young: 12.
Tree swallow young: 5.
BB fledged: 19.
Chickadee fledged: 6.
Bluebirds fledged for the season: 27.
Chickadees fledged for the season: 15.
