Subject: Re: DGIF Hard Mast Survey Workshop, August 3; 9a-12p
Sorry everyone, I have an edit, the workshop only needs to last an hour to
cover all the needed information!
Hard Mast Survey Workshop
When? Saturday, August 3, 9a-10p
Where? Wilna Lodge at Rappahannock River Valley NWR, google Link:
https://goo.gl/maps/uNuehvDPEcxxDe1r5<https://goo.gl/maps/uNuehvDPEcxxDe1r5> or
follow directions towards 336 Wilna Road, Warsaw, VA
What? Join DGIF biologist, Katie Martin to learn how hard mast (acorns) play a
role in our ecosystem and how you can be a part of the state wide survey to
quantify acorn crops in your area! The eastern part of Virginia has been long
under surveyed in this study and we need your help to make that no longer true!
The beginning portion of this workshop will be indoors, leading to an outdoor
laboratory to reiterate the methods required to do this survey.
What to Bring? Binoculars, field clothes (we will be on a path), snacks and
lots of water. Sunblock and bug spray are recommended.
RSVP? Contact Lauren_cruz@xxxxxxx<mailto:Lauren_cruz@xxxxxxx> if you can attend
or if you have any questions.
We hope to see you there!
