Subject: Atlasing at Dameron Marsh This Weekend
Hello Region 5 Atlasers,
Breeding birds are abound. This is a great time to look and listen for the
commotion of fledgling birds begging and being to tended to by their parents.
Many are out collecting great data in Region 5, and hopefully we'll get some of
these priority blocks completed that are almost there.
I'd love to get out in the field with more of you. To that end I thought I'd
send out a late note to see if anyone is interested in joining me for some
atlasing this weekend. On Saturday I plan to spend the morning trying to
complete the priority block, Reedville SE, which is made up almost entirely by
Dameron Marsh NAP. This is a very casual outing. I'll be in the small parking
lot at Dameron at 8am if you'd like to join me. At some point I plan to trek
along the beach and eventually out into the marsh. Bring boots or mud shoes and
long sleeves are helpful to combat the mosquitoes that frequent the sheltered
areas. Try me cell if you have any questions. I understand if you're unable to
join, this is very short notice.
Happy Independence Day to everyone. I hope you are finding time to enjoy the
holiday weekend and, of course, see some birds.
Ellison
