The Florida Scrub Jay, is fighting for existence. This tract of land was
cleared for development and bought while undeveloped. The Scrub Jays made
it home, there are controlled burns every eight years to maintain the
habitat for the Jays. There is also problems created with pocket colonies
of these birds without a large DNA pool.
