I counted 31 flickers crossing our lane between 9 AM and noon today, almost all
of them appearing to be heading east. There were few other birds around beyond
the usual suspects: common crows, eastern bluebirds, cardinals, catbirds,
mockingbirds, brown thrashers and a flyover-over kildeer. Best bird of the
morning may have been a FOS (for me) savannah sparrow.
