Please contact Lauren Cruz if you would like to participate with her in the
GW Birthplace Christmas Bird Count at the Wilna Unit. Lauren will be out
early doing a Owl Prowl, but would make accommodations to gather up folks
as they arrive throughout the day.

The Motherhead Unit of the Rappahannock River Valley NWR is also within the
boundaries of the George Washington Birthplace bird walk. You would need
to coordinate with both Bill Portlock and Lauren Cruz. Bill is the
coordinator for this bird count and we need to insure this sector isn't
already covered and also so that he is aware of your participation. In
addition to Bill, if this sector is available you would also need to fill
out a special use permit with Lauren to gain access to the Unit. Lauren
assured me it wasn't that hard to fill out and said trails were recently
mowed for hunting season and should be useable.
