A service of the Northern Neck Audubon Society---
During a quick visit to Dameron Marsh NAP this afternoon we were pleased to see
and hear ("Pink! Pink!") a flock of about 40 bobolinks moving along the taller
patches of the marsh grasses to the north of the observation platform. The warm
Buffy plumage of non-breeding birds is nothing like what they looked like when
they passed through heading north just a few months ago. Other birds seen were
the usual suspects: osprey, laughing gulls, d-c cormorants, Forster's terns,
great blue heron, red-winged blackbird.
