Dear colleagues,
The Nordic Geodetic Commission (NKG) organizes the NKG Summer School every four
years.
This year it will be a digital event due to the pandemic.
Space Geodesy in Support of Future Autonomous Society
Space geodesy is a vital, but almost invisible, part of many things we take for
granted today. It keeps track of reference frames and time, positioning
ourselves within a few cm within seconds, helps with health and security, keeps
track of our continent’s movements, and consequences of climate change are
pinned down to the mm level. We, as geodesists, observe seasonal changes and
long-term trends, but what is our role in the future autonomous society?
The NKG Summer School will host a series of talks related to autonomous society
and how space geodesy is used within sensors and technology. The topics range
from positioning, autonomy, sensor fusion, privacy, safety, to science
application within space geodesy.
