This is simply a 'Save the Date.' No sign up info is available as of yet as we
are pending CEU's and some additional items but will be sent once finalized.
Same for times, although it is typically a full day conference with breakfast
and lunch provided. We just want to get it on the radar for people as this is
our 34th year! Thanks again!!

Thank you for the email. The assistance and support has been extremely
positive and we do certainly appreciate the efforts. To that end, I would like
to inform you of two events and kindly ask that you distribute the information
to the members.
The first is an announcement of our upcoming FREE 30 Hour training on
disordered gambling which allows a counselor or clinician to advance toward a
Nationally Certified Gambling Counselor (NCGC). I have attached that document
as a .pdf.
Second, below, is a save the date flyer for our Statewide conference in the
Fall.

evening, Dan: Your email has been forwarded to me by various colleagues. You
mention having some difficulty reaching out to the Asian American community
regarding addiction problems related to gambling. You mention that your
organization is having a conference this September. Send us the conference
flyer asap so that we can share it with our members. You may also send the
flyer to the counseling state organization, NJCA. Its general email
isnjcounseling2@xxxxxxxxx. and the president is Mr. Randy Clark. I strongly
urge you reach out to NAMI-NJ with its main office in No.Brunswick, NJ. The
National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) has developed various successful
initiatives involving Asian American clients and communities. NAMI's executive
director is Ms. Sylvia Axelrod and their phone is (732)940-0991. Associate
director Aruna Rao can be reached via email (arao@xxxxxxxxxx). Another staff
member, Ms.Celina Sanchez, can be reached via email too (isanchez@xxxxxxxxxx).

fyi - they were sponsors at our NJCA conference - it seems reasonable that
Maria talk with them at least initially - since the interest is multicultural.
Certainly NJCA is interested on behalf of all our members - in their fall
conference with the focus on diversity.

Hi Roberto,
I hope your week is going well. It was great to see you at WPC!
My colleague forwarded me the email below. He is seeking our assistance in
connecting with someone from NJAMC. I was not sure if you give out your
personal email address or you have another email that you use for NJAMC.
Therefore, I let Daniel know that I will forward his email to you and ask if
you could follow up with him directly.
Thank you for your help with this matter.

Hi Sandy.
I wanted to ask if you had a contact with someone on the Multicultural side of
the Counseling Association. The reason being twofold:
1) We continue to have a hard time reaching the Asian - American community
with respect to disordered gambling and would like to reach out and brainstorm
on ideas.
2) Extend an invitation to the NJAC and all of its member organizations to our
upcoming Statewide Conference in September which will have a focus on diversity
and multiculturalism.
Thank you in advance for your continued support and hope all is well.
