I remember reading about the Kaye Device ages ago. It had been developed in
Australia or New Zealand, and was also called a "torch", British for
flashlight. It then developed into the Sonicguide, mounted on an eyeglass
frame, and I had used a prototype in the early 70s. When it was marketed it
cost $2000. . I had really liked it, but it was far too expensive.
