Hi folks,
forgive the delay in sending this but here it is for your files if you so
desire.

David had taken the time to put together the steps for saving and recording
DVD clips and asked me to share it with the entire group.

note: please do not confuse this with the instructions that were sent a
while ago on how to download and save youtube to mp3's to your computer.
This is for DVD clips.

There will be a couple other posts to follow regarding the Roxio software
that David showed us at the tech group on Friday, so stay tuned.

Thanks. Marie

* How to save video clips from Youtube to computer.

Step 2, Press enter to turn on forms mode when on the Youtube website and
type in the video clip you want to save to your computer. Press enter to

Step 3, Once you've found the video clip you want, press enter, and the
video clip will start to play.

Step 4, While the video clip is playing on Youtube, Hit the tab key once.
You will hear Jaws announce the web address with the video link. Select the
entire thing bye holding down shift and pressing down aero. You will hear
Jaws repeat the adress bar with the video link and it will say selected.
Next, Hold down control key while hitting the letter C. Jaws will say,
Copied selection to clipboard. go to either website.

HTTP://www.savevid.com or

 Step 5, While on

HTTP://www.keepvid.com, press the letter E one time. You will hear Jaws say,
enter the URL of the video you want to download. Press enter to turn on
forms mode and hold down the control key while hitting the letter V. Jaws
will say, Pasted from clipboard. Press enter to turn off forms mode. As you
aero down the page you will hear the video clip information and hear a bunch
of video formats you can save the clip as. If you want to burn the video
clips to DVD, I reccomend that you save the video clips as FLV format, Flash
Video. Select the video format you want to save it as bye hitting your down
or up aero keys and then holding down Shift and pressing enter to select
the format you want. Jaws will say, New Brouzer window. Note you may have to
do this a couple of times to get the file download dialog box to appear.
When it does, I usually hit Alt+tab. Once you hear Jaws announce the file
download dialog box, select save. Select where you want to save the file on
your computer, and you are done. You have successfully saved a video clip
from Youtube to your computer.

How to Add and burn video clips to DVD.

Step 1. First go to this website.

Here, as you aero down on this site, you will hear different free open
source DVD programs you can download. The program you want to download is
called Sothink DVD maker. It is a zip file. Select the download link for
this program and Jaws will say, File download dialog, do you want to open or
save this file? DVDmaker.zip. Select save, and select the location on your
computer where to save the zip file. After that, close out the website bye
holding down Alt+F4. Next, Select the location on your hard drive where you
saved the DVDmaker.zip file and press enter. Select open when in the zip
file, and select the file called dvdmaker setup.exe This is the setup
instalation program file witch will launch the setup wizard. Follow the
promps as it will work with Jaws. This program is extremely Jaws user
friendly for anybody who is blind and uses a screen reader.

Step 2. After you've installed the program, You may need to reboot the
computer. After you have rebooted, Go to the start menu bye press the
Windows key or control+escape key. Next, if you're using Windows XP, select
P for programs. Hit the letter S a few times until you hear Jaws say,
Sothink DVD Maker Sub Menu. Hit the right aero key once to open up the menu,
then select Sothink DVD maker and press enter to open up the program. Note-
Once opened, you may get a dialog box asking you if you want to update to
the latest version if available. I usually would select no because they
probably want you to pay for it. Next, you will hear Jaws announce, Ultra
List Control. There will probably be other options on the screen, but if
there is, Jaws will not read them.

Next, Hit your alt key once to go to the menu bar. Jaws will announce file
Add files button. Select this option only bye pressing enter. Jaws will say,
File open dilalog, select the files you want bye hitting tab a couple of
times until you hear the brouze option. Next, select the location where you
saved your video files. Then, once you've selected your video file, press
tab three times. Jaws will say Open. To activate press spacebar. Hit the
space or enter, and you will be placed back in the Ultra list control dialog
box. Note- Jaws will not announce the list of clips added in the burn list,
so you will have to remember witch clips you've added so that you don't add
the same one twice.

After you've added all the clips you want to burn to your DVD, press the alt
key once and then press down aero two or three times. You will hear your
first option witch is Add files. Your next option is add folder. Your last
option is the burn option. Select the burn option bye pressing enter. Note-,
Depending on how many video clips you have added, the longer the convertion
will take. Also, when adding the video clips to your burn list in Sothink
DVD maker, hit the tab once or twice to get to the video types option. This
is very important. You want to make sure that the video types option is set
to all supported formats. This will be the default option. This will make
your burnt DVD playable in both your DVD player for your TV, and it will
also play on most computers. When I put together all 8 seasons of the TV
show Rescue 911, I used 3 discs a season accept for seasons 7 and 8. Those
two seasons, I used one disc. Seasons 1 through Season 6 I used three discs
and added ten episodes for each disc. It took about an hour and a half to
convert each disc when in the drive after the burn option was selected. You
won't hear Jaws say anything after you've selected the burn option as the
convertion is already in progress. Once the convertion is done, everything
else is done automatically. Jaws will say, Sothink DVD maker dialog,
Creating DVD menu dialog, then it will announce the progress bar from 0 to
100 %. Once the progress bar is at 100%, Jaws will say, Sothink DVD maker
dialog, Creating Disc Structure. You will again hear the progress bars being
announced from 0% to 100%. Once the progress bar reaches 100% the burn
progress will start up and you will hear the disc spinning in the drive. As
you hear this sound, the progress bar will slowly move up. You can press
your alt+tab to shuffle between programs. Once you've pressed Alt+tab to get
back to the Sothink DVD maker program, Jaws will say, Writing, Cancil
button. Make sure you don't hit cancil.Note-, When using this program, make
sure you only use it with Windows XP Pro or Home addition as I'm not sure if
it will work with Windows 7, 8, or vista. Also, If you want to be able to
play the video clips you've saved from Youtube with Windows media player,
you should make sure you have the Sothink DVD maker program installed on
your computer. Also, before saving video clips from Youtube to your computer,
You should also make sure that you have the latest version of Java
installed, as well as the latest version of Adobe Flash Player.

Congradulations. You have successfully created your very own DVD video
clips from Youtube.
