This Saturday I am hosting an all day work party for building trails on
Colville Mountain. I will be on the mountain from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM busting
out some sweet trail. I encourage everyone to come for however long they can
anytime throughout the day. Even coming for an hour is a huge help.
I will have a cooler with a variety of chilled soft-drinks, juice and water for
all to enjoy, as well as sandwiches and other food stuffs for anyone whose
belly gets hungry throughout the day.
I encourage all to bring work gloves, boots, sunscreen, and any dirt-moving
tools you may have. I have quite a few extra tools in case you don't have any.
Safety glasses aren't a bad idea, either.
To get to the "trailhead" go north up Main Street (don't turn left at Safeway)
until the road ends in a T. Stay to the left and keep going up, the road will
turn into a dirt road that is May Road. A short ways up this road will be the
turnoff to Colville Mountain Road on the right, which is off-limits to
motorized vehicles. We will park near this turnoff and walk up Colville
Mountain Road, my tan Toyota Tacoma pickup will be parked there. About a
quarter-mile walk up Colville Mountain Road will bring you to the actual
trailhead to the trail we will be working on. It will be on the right and is
clearly marked with blue flagging.
