I. Background
Yayasan Rumah Energi (YRE) is an Indonesia NGO that was established in
2012 in the social and humanitarian fields . The organization is mandated to
contribute and create positive impacts on poverty alleviation, strengthening
the livelihood of grassroots’ communities, adaptation and mitigation to climate
change and assisting in disaster risk reduction through innovation and shared
knowledge. The overarching mandates are translated into YRE’s 3 (three) main
YRE programs, namely: i) Renewable Energy; ii) Sustainable Food; and iii)
Social Business Incubation. This program diversification was carried out by YRE
as an effort to adapt to the opportunities and needs of the YRE targeted
beneficiaries for the past 8 years. Our social business incubation program is
aimed at increasing beneficiaries’ entrepreneurial skill, sharpening their
business resiliency and amplifying their social and environmental impacts.
YRE in collaboration with Cocoa Life will carry out a 2 (two) year
business incubation program under the SCORE Program (Sustainable Cacao Farmers
and Organic Fertilizer Market). The Program will take place in Pringsewu and
Pesawaran Districts in Lampung Province. The Program’s goal is to improve the
welfare of 16 farmers groups through building a local composting market whilst
strengthening the resiliency of cacao farmers groups farming practices to the
impacts of climate change. The specific objectives from the Program are to
increase the application of composting by cocoa farmers; create local market
ecosystem for compost and strengthened the entrepreneurial capacity of cocoa
farmers groups in driving the sustainable compost business in Lampung Province.
Hence the YRE is looking for an experienced Supply Chain Officer
(Officer) who will be working closely with farmers, private sector and local
government offices in the agriculture sector in Lampung Province. The Officer
will be responsible for assessing, identifying and develop local supply chain
for compost/bioslurry/fertilizer business. The Officer will provide the
baseline assessment and the supply chain analysis to the SCORE program farmers
groups to enhance their understanding of the local fertilizer business
ecosystem. Furthermore, the supply chain officer will also be involved in the
incubation component of the Program where the officer will provide legal and
administrative requirements for the product to be launched. Market analysis
conducted by the Officer will also be the basis for product knowledge and
development required by the Market. One of the KPIs of the Officer is to have
secure supply agreements between the compost/bioslurry supplier to the Farmers
Groups. The Officer will be working in a Program team that comprises of a
Program Manager, 3 (three) Mentors and a Promotion Officer. To maximize the
Program engagement to the market key stakeholders, the Officer will be working
on site in Pesawaran and Pingsewu District in Lampung Province.
II. Scope of Work
The Supply Chain Officer is expected to take responsibilities in
assessing, identify and develop the supply chain of
compost/bioslurry/fertilizer in Lampung Province based on the existing data on
compost/bioslurry suppliers and the farmers groups. The Officer will also be
responsible for securing supply agreements between the raw material/feedstock
supplier to the farmers groups. Moreover, as part of the supply chain analysis,
the Officer will also be involved in the farmers groups on the legal and
administrative requirements know-how of the products.
III. Key Responsibilities
The Supply Chain Officer is expected to carry out the following
responsibilities:
· Assess and identify existing supply chain of compost bioslurry
business based on the available data and information
· Identify compost/bioslurry supplier and offtakers
· Create local compost/bioslurry supply chain market in Pringsewu and
Pesawaran Districts.
Engage, secure supplier arrangements and maintain relationship with
compost/bioslurry suppliers and offtakers
· Build the capacity of farmers groups’ product knowledge and product
development of compost/bioslurry and its derivatives
· Build the capacity of the farmers groups on legal and administrative
requirements in establishing compost/bioslurry business
· Engage and coordinate with local government offices regarding
potential collaboration between the Program and the local government
development planning
· Engage, coordinate and maintain relationship with suppliers, farmers
groups, offtakers and supporting industries within the local compost/bioslurry
supply chain.
IV. Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:
The Supply Chain Officer is expected to have the following
qualifications:
· Bachelor degree in agriculture or business management with a minimum
of 5 (five) years of experience working in agribusiness
· Proven experience and demonstrable success in community development
programs specifically in of agriculture sector
· Has a good knowledge and proven experience working in supply chain
management
· Good oral and writing skills in Indonesian and English.
· Willing to travel to remote areas and work in rural areas
· Excellent communication and coordination skill with local communities
and government
· Excellent presentation and report writing skills
V. Contract Period
The contract period is for nine months from the 1st October 2021 to end
of June 2022
