Subject: Project Officer for Low Emission Development Project - KEMITRAAN
Job Title
:
Project Officer â Low Emission Development
Duration of Contract
:
12 months
Single reference of a national-wide agreed and accepted emission reduction
target influencing on how fast stakeholders in different economic sectors
will carry out the mandate to cut off emissions. As Indonesia does not have
any single-reference of a nationally-wide emission reduction target, the key
stakeholders react indifferently to the encouragement of a low-emission
development planning processes. This reflected on how many new policies that
have reference to âgreenâ and âclimate-friendlyâ are most likely in
the form of accepting the concepts, as a guiding principle, but lack of
direction on how to implement the actual actions.
An improved policy coordination amongst key stakeholdersâ will strengthen
the Indonesiaâs commitment on a nationally-wide emission reduction target.
Even when a single reference of the emission reduction target is made
available, without a better policy coordination it would be difficult to meet
the target. The harmonization of various regulations related to climate
change and sustainable development has to be done, with precise level of
technical detail and authority to be formed. It is also important to ensure
that such rules and governance developed does not in fact cause an
over-regulated implementation, like what many claimed has happened with REDD+
implementation.
Under direct supervision of CMEA and Project Manager and guidance of Program
Director, the Project Officer is primarily responsible to support Project
Manager in managing the overall work plan developed. The Project Officer
also responsible to ensure that the team members are informed on the planning
and implementation, including if there is potential changes on role and
implementation strategy.
The Project Officer will work closely with Project Manager, Program Director
of Sustainable Governance Strategic, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning
Manager, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Officer, Admin & Procurement
Officer, Finance & Grant Officers, Project Finance and Administration
Assistants, Consultants /Experts and Advisors, Coordinating Ministry of
