*Researcher in Energy Efficiency*
*Position: Researcher in Energy Efficient Building*
*Background*
Institute for Essential Services Reform (IESR) is an Indonesia think tank
on energy and environment, based in Jakarta. IESR aims to accelerate low
carbon energy transition in Indonesia and address its impacts to Indonesia
economy and society. IESR produces data and science based analysis for
policy makers, stakeholders and the public.
IESR is seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to perform analysis
of energy efficiency in Indonesia, in particular energy efficiency in
building. The selected person will be responsible for collecting data,
performing technical and policy research and analysis, writing up reports,
engaging with stakeholders, and should be able to communicate effectively
at all levels.
*Key Roles and Responsibilities*
· Carry out policy and regulatory analysis of energy efficiency in
building/green building
· Undertake comprehensive analysis and systematization of the main
policy issues associated with energy efficiency in buildings in cities of
different climatic zones, including addressing building codes, standards
and labelling
· Conduct dynamic energy simulations and analyse barriers to
development of energy efficiency building, and identify potential options
to unlock action;
· Other duties as assigned
*Qualifications*
· Minimum Master degree in relevant discipline such as physics
engineering, building/architectural engineering, civil engineering from
reputable university.
· Knowledge and practice with ISO 50001 and other accreditations such
as LEED AP, ASHRAE Certification, Certified Measurement and Verification
Professional (CMVP) will be highly valued.
· Experience in building energy simulation of energy conservation
measures (e.g. through Energy Plus, eQUEST).
· Good knowledge in energy efficiency issues, net-zero energy
building is an advantage.
· Minimum 2 years research experience in the similar field.
· Attention to detail and exception written and communication skill.
· Professional English level both written and oral.
· Excellent with MS Office system or similar software.
· Good interpersonal and social skill.
*Duration*
Two years contract and can be extended, with 3 months’ probation. Expected
starting in September 2021.
*Salary*
Salary and benefits are competitive and will be commensurate with
candidate’s qualification and experiences.
