Nutrition International (NI) is anOttawa-based, international not-for-profit

communities in Indonesia since2006. NI’s priority objectives in Indonesia
include the survival and health ofchildren, adolescent girls, pregnant and
lactating women as well as women ofreproductive age, primarily through improved
coverage and use of keymicronutrients, such as vitamin A, zinc, iron and folic
acid as well as wheatflour fortification and iodized salt.
Save the Children (SC) has been working in Indonesiasince 1976 and has worked
in 16 of Indonesia’s 34 Provinces. In 2017, SC workedin 11 Provinces and 43
Districts, reaching over 230,000 direct beneficiaries.SC’s programming and
technical expertise are primarily in the areas of healthand nutrition,
education, and child rights – including child protection, childpoverty, and
child rights governance. Save the Children is also an activeplayer in the
national policy and advocacy space, particularly in the realm ofworking with
sub-national government actors on effective management offinancial and
technical resources.
The Better Investment for Stunting Alleviation (BISA)project is an integrated
nutrition-specific and nutrition-sensitive projectdesigned jointly by Save the
Children and Nutrition International (BISA team)to assist the Government of
Indonesia (GoI) to realise the goal of the NationalStrategy to Accelerate
Stunting Prevention (2018-2024). BISA targets twoProvinces – West Java (WJ) and
Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT). Under the BISA project, NI supports a baseline
survey that willassess the knowledge, attitude and practices among school going
adolescentsgirls and teachers on the causes and consequences of anaemia and the
benefitsof IFA supplementation in the two provinces.
This Request for Proposal (RFP) is for the project inWest Java Province. BISA
through NI is planning to organize orientationworkshops and capacity
development activities in the two initial districts targeted by theBISA project
in West Java. Orientationworkshops will be conducted at district and puskesmas
levels and will includethe participation of district levelofficials, puskesmas
and teachers. Capacity development activites will beconducted in the form of
Training of Trainers (ToT) for district levelofficials in Kupang and TTU
districts, followed by cascade training forpuskesmas and teachers.
BISA through NI seeks to contract a local agency toorganize the following
activities, in West Java province: 1) orientationworkshops at district level,
2) orientation sessions at puskesmas level, and 3)cascade training sessions for
puskesmas staff and teachers.
