Conservancy (TNC) in Indonesia. YKAN mission is to inherit sustainable
natural environment for future generations by preserving lands and water
terein in which all lives depends on, through management of protected
reserved area, vital species habitat conservation and local communities
empowerment.

*SUSTAINABLE LIVELIHOOD COORDINATOR*
The Sustainable Livelihood Coordinator will facilitate the development and
management of the most suitable sustainable livelihoods for the project’s
partners, grantees, and beneficiaries in their respective home
villages/areas and linked to biodiversity conservation and small-scale
fisheries management in adjacent marine protected areas or coastal waters.
S/he will interpret the results of community development and capacity
building needs assessment to help the project’s partners, grantees, and
beneficiaries, identify and implement the most suitable sustainable
livelihoods for them to pursue in support to biodiversity conservation and
small-scale fisheries management in adjacent marine protected areas or
coastal waters.
This position will facilitate the project’s partners, grantees, and
beneficiaries, in developing and managing sustainable livelihoods via, but
not limited to, (i) formation and development of community groups, (ii)
building capacities to plan, budgeting, goods or commodities production,
and report preparation, (iii) product development and quality assurance,
and (iv) nurture partnerships for local economic development, including
engaging the market via marketing access and networks.
Work closely with other staff in the field, especially the Stakeholder
Engagement Coordinator, to ensure appropriate selection of the most capable
community groups for the development of Sustainable Livelihood activities
that meet YKAN and project requirements; and especially the Grant Officer,
to ensure financial and administrative aspects of all livelihood
development or diversification activities are meeting YKAN and project
requirements.
These may include one or more of the following functions:
· Reinforces consistency in the organization's policies and procedures
and provides support related to the relevant field.
· Coordinate implementation of Sustainable Livelihood development in
target villages in three project regions (regencies of Raja Ampat, Sorong,
and Tambrauw).
· Prepare implementable work and budget plan for Sustainable
Livelihood development activities.
· Facilitate the implementation and responsible for the success of
Sustainable Livelihood development activities.
· Collaborate and coordinate with the University of Papua’s
socio-economic and sustainable livelihood experts in developing locally
suitable sustainable livelihoods based on assessment results.
· Collaborate and coordinate with the responsible person for women's
capacity development to develop relevant Sustainable Livelihoods activities
by women’s groups.
· Collaborate with BHS Stakeholder Engagement Coordinator to build
strategic partnerships with partners to ensure the development of
sustainable livelihoods.
· Collaborate with the Grant Administrator, to ensure financial and
administrative aspects of all livelihood development or diversification
activities are meeting YKAN and project requirements.
· Accompany and facilitate local community groups formed under the
project to build their organizational management and programmatic
capacities.
· Perform periodic monitoring of activities carried out by local
community groups formed under the project.
· Facilitate (i) product development and quality assurance, and (ii)
market engagement, via marketing access and network building, for local
community groups.
· Prepare necessary data and information for reporting purposes.
The Sustainable Livelihood Coordinator reports to the Papua Bird’s Head
Seascape Manager and is based in Sorong, West Papua, Indonesia.
Qualifications:
· Diploma's degree, Bachelor’s degree desired, in any field but
preferably in product development & marketing, social works, community
development, or cooperative management. Knowledge of marine conservation
and fisheries management is an asset but not required.
· Minimum 5 years related experience or equivalent combination in
developing and managing sustainable livelihood projects or initiatives.
· Knowledge and well-round understanding of the Sustainable Livelihood
(SL) framework and SL project management.
· Experience working with coastal communities, including fishers.
· Experience working with government and non-governmental
organizations.
· Experience with grant/financial issues of sustainable livelihood
development.
· Experience with public presentation and communication and/or with
media both written and oral.
· Experience with report writing.
· Able to interact with the project's senior leadership
professionally.
· Experience in using MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
· Experience negotiating complex agreements.
· Supervisory experience
· Experience in training and curriculum design.
*GRANT OFFICER*
The Grant Officer provides services in public award administration,
including reporting to a department or business unit. S/he administers and
maintains public award administration in accordance with YKAN policies and
procedures and best practices. The Grant Officer provides assistance to
staff and responds to questions and problems based on knowledge of the
subject area.
The Grant Officer is expected to provide valid, relevant and accurate grant
information on a timely basis to support transactions for YKAN Indonesia
Oceans Program (IOP), particularly for selected activities being
implemented under the project funded by the Blue Action Fund (BAF) in Raja
Ampat, Bird’s Head Seascape.
S/he is directly responsible for all administrative aspects of grants out
to grantee organizations, including assistance with due diligence
activities, preparation and revision of agreements, review of invoices and
financial reports, and maintenance of grant files. Works closely with the
Award Manager, Papua Bird’s Head Seascape Manager and Sustainable
Livelihood Coordinator to ensure that the terms and conditions of
agreements with the third parties under BAF-supported project are met and
properly documented and communicates directly with partners to clarify or
negotiate financial and administrative requirements.
The Grant Officer reports to Oceans Finance & Program Support Manager and
is based in Sorong, West Papua, Indonesia.
Qualifications:
· Diploma's Degree in Management, Accounting, Business
Administration, or related field.
· Experience with GAAP and fund accounting principles, practices, and
regulations.
· Experience using automated accounting systems.
· Knowledge and understanding of the basic principles of accounting,
practices, and regulations.
· Experience with grant/financial issues and analysis.
· Experience in using MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook.
· Familiar with online communication tools and any other apps to
support working remotely.
*COASTAL RESILIENCE COORDINATOR*
The Coastal Resilience Coordinator assists the implementation coordination
of coastal resilience activities such as conduct vulnerability assessments
and scientific analyses on how coastal ecosystems in Indonesia contribute
to community resilience, support the evaluation of habitat degradation
impact on local communities and the potential for nature-based solutions.
S/he will help develop and implement conservation strategies, coordinate
multiple projects, set deadlines, and manage completion of
projects/research that are related to the coastal resilience aspect. She/he
will be communicating technical aspects of coastal resilience with donors,
partners, TNC global through regular meetings and emails.
S/he also works closely with the Indonesia Oceans Program staff to provide
technical support to YKAN Indonesia Oceans Program related to
hydro-oceanography, conservation, and marine planning works.
The Coastal Resilience Coordinator will be based in the Jakarta office with
frequent travel to YKAN sites. S/he will report to the Indonesia Oceans
Protection Sr Manager/Indonesia Oceans Resilience Sr Manager.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree and 3 years’ experience in natural resource
management or similar field or equivalent combination of education and
experience.
· Experience managing staff or volunteers.
· Relationship building experience to work closely with a variety of
partners, i.e., media, government officials, internal scientists.
· Experience completing tasks independently with respect to
timeline(s).
· Experience with communication via written, spoken, and graphical
means in English and other relevant languages.
· Experience using common software applications such as Word, Excel,
web browsers, etc.
· Experience in training.
· Experience coordinating multiple projects.
