TheDeutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is a
Germanimplementing organization which provides services worldwide in the field
ofinternational cooperation for sustainable development.
In collaboration withExpertise France, GIZ implements a program for reducing
plastic waste andmarine litter in East and South East-Asia (Rethinking
Plastics: CircularEconomy Solution to Marine Litter), financed by the European
Union andco-financed by BMZ. The regional measures will be part of the global
advisoryBMZ project “Concepts for sustainable solid waste management and
circulareconomy”.
The project aims to support a transition to sustainableconsumption and
production of plastic in East and South East Asia (includingIndonesia), and
contribute to significantly reduce marine litter, including bysupporting
European approaches, policies and business models, with thefollowing key
outputs:
- Providing an enhanced basis for relevant EU policy dialogues, e.g. on
environment, fisheries and industry, concerning plastic production and
management.
- Supporting the implementation of waste hierarchy, extended producer
responsibility and deposit return schemes for plastic products and plastic
waste.
- Facilitating the implementation of activities for sustainable consumption
and production of plastic.
- Efforts for the reduction of litter from sea-based sources are enhanced
- Strengthened Green procurement policies, processes and cooperation
particularly in Japan and Singapore.
- Increased awareness of public authorities and consumers about sustainable
consumption and production of plastic and impacts on the environment of
littering.
Forthis reason, GIZ seeks a qualified Indonesian candidate for the
followingposition:
Intern for Knowledge Management Support
- Responsibilities
Support the Rethinking Plastics project on theknowledge management and the
monitoring of the implementation of the projectactivities.
- Tasks
· Support the communication andcoordination with relevant actors in
the implementationof a work plan in Indonesia
· Support all the relevant activities forthe preparation,
implementation and finalization of technical workshops/webinars/conference/
meetings conducted or supported by the Project,
· Supportmonitoring of the implementation ofthe 7 pilot projects to
ensure the compliance with the proposedwork-plan, project’s communication and
visibility plan and strategy,
· Support the development of regular reportingto the Regional Team,
· Support awareness raising and communication activities
incollaboration with NGOs or other partner organisations,
· Support the collection, compilation andmanagement all the projects’
communication materials and technical documentation(technical reports, meeting
notes, pictures, etc).
C. Required qualifications, competencesand experience
Qualifications
· Freshgraduate or last semester bachelor student in
environmentalstudies/International relation/communication, or others.
Professionalexperiences
· Basicknowledge of environmental management,
communication/public or internationalrelation,
· Goodconceptual, inter-personal communication, and
representation skills,
· Stronginterest to work on issue related to plastic waste
management/consumptionreduction and human behaviour.
Other knowledge,additional competences
· Goodcommunication, organisational and information management
skills,
· Interculturalunderstanding is additional advantages,
· Self-motivatedwith time management skills and ability to work
with minimum supervision, andstrong willingness to learn
· Goodcommand of Ms. Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word),
· GoodEnglish skills,
· Abilityto work in a team and to adapt to an international
working environment.
· Preferablyactive in student/public organizations or activities
on environment relatedcampaign,
· Experienceas note-taker is an advantage,
· Abilityto operate visual design programme is an advantage,
· Experiencein writing article, blog, social-media caption, is an
advantage.
