Overview:Infectious Disease Detection and Surveillance (IDDS) is a five-year
USAID-fundedproject with the following overall objectives: (1) Improve the
detection ofdiseases of public health importance and identification of
antimicrobialresistance (AMR) in priority infectious diseases through an
accessible,accurate, adaptable, timely, and integrated diagnostic network
system;(2)Improve the quality of real-time surveillance systems for pathogens
ofgreatest public health concern, including AMR and zoonotic diseases, and;
(3)Generate evidence-based guidance and innovative solutions to
strengthenin-country diagnostic networks and surveillance systems.
Scope Of Work:
- Work with local stakeholders and partners to gather information about
current systems to pick up and transport samples to be sent to Jakarta for
COVID-19 testing
- Help to identify gaps in those transport systems and where additional
support can be provided
- Help to adapt standard operating procedures for sample collection,
packaging, and transportation to the local context
- Adapt training materials for how to safely collect, pack, and transport
specimens
- Conduct training to laboratory and healthcare staff for safe collection,
handling, and transportation of samples
- Visit facilities and monitor compliance with the SOPs for safe collection,
handling and transport of samples
