(GHSC-PSM) in Indonesia
OVERVIEW:
The USAID-funded Global Health Supply Chain-Procurement & Supply Management
project (GHSC-PSM) is being implemented by Chemonics International. GHSC-PSM is
the primary vehicle through which USAID 1) procures and provides health
commodities, 2) provides technical assistance to improve partner country
management of the health supply chain, and 3) collaborates with key
international stakeholders to support global health initiatives.
In Indonesia, GHSC-PSM operates under the U.S. President's Emergency Plan for
AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) funded task order to conduct HIV and tuberculosis supply
chain strengthening activities that support Indonesia on its journey to
self-reliance. The focus of the project in Indonesia is to provide technical
assistance in supply chain management to the Ministry of Health for HIV, TB,
and laboratory commodities, in support of the national HIV/AIDS and TB programs
in the country. At the national level, the project supports the Directorate of
Direct Infectious Disease Control (Sub-directorates HIV/AIDS and TB), the
Directorate of Quality and Health Services Accreditation (Laboratory services),
and the Directorate of Public Medicine and Health Supplies. The project
provides support to Jakarta Province and selected districts in some provinces
based on request from USAID.
GHSC-PSM Indonesia has to produce regular reports, presentations and
communication materials of high quality in English for USAID and other
stakeholders.
SUMMARY:
GHSC-PSM Indonesia seeks a Reporting & Communication Consultant with excellent
oral and writing skills, to assist in writing and copy-editing of English
reports, presentations and communication materials, as well as to mentor the
GHSC-PSM team member to build their own capacity to write and present in
English.
The Consultant would work closely together with our technical staff to be able
to understand the technical terminology where needed; the main focus should be
on a logic flow, correct English, and the professional appearance of all
materials produced.
This is a parttime consultancy job, where part of the work will be on a regular
/ recurrent base (e.g. ongoing production of at least one weekly PowerPoint
presentation and at least one report per quarter) and part of the work on an
'as needed' base, sometimes with short turn around times. The position can be
done at least partially remotely as long as there is a workable overlap with
the Jakarta time zone, and the possibility for sufficient on the job mentoring
where needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Assist in writing and copy-editing of at least one report for USAID
each quarter (30 - 50 pages);
* Assist in producing and copy-editing of at least one PowerPoint
presentation for USAID per week (usually 5 - 15 slides);
* Assist in writing monthly report in English to USAID of slide
presentation for 4CC meeting.
* Production of additional reports, best-practice documents, reports
etc as needed;
* Mentoring of the GHSC-PSM Indonesia team to build their own capacity
to write and present in English; develop a proposal including methodology and
proposed LOE to build this capacity.
* Assist in writing articles, reports, and ensure other knowledge or
publications are distributed. Writing and editing articles and other
publications as needed
* Communication & Branding
* to help produce/ to assist project communication materials ensuring
communication outreach & visibility to partners at national, central,
provincial, district and respective districts (cities)
* To ensure all communication products produced are in line with USAID
Chemonics branding & visibility guidelines
* Writing support
* Assist, Review & produce activity report on each training / workshops
/ events conducted with program teams
* Responsible to maintain communication tools and ensure the contents
are regularly updated
* Facilitate relationship/partnerships with MOH, PHO, support program
to communicate and maintain relation with Government donors, and other
institution related to programs and stakeholders
* Involve in the meetings and take notes for any critical, essential
meeting with USAID and partners including internal discussion with technical
team
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Master's Degree in Communication, International Relationship, English
Literature, Economics, Public Health or related field.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and
Bahasa Indonesia, including report writing and copywriting
* Demonstrable experience and capability in the production of quality
English reports, presentations, communication materials;
* Demonstrable experience and preferably qualifications in mentoring /
teaching;
* Ideally an understanding of the required technical terminology, or
willingness to learn this;
* Ideally an understanding of USAID and Government of Indonesia systems
and stakeholders, or a willingness to learn this;
* Excellent skills in MS Office or similar;
* Diplomatic and stress resistant; being able to shift gears rapidly
and be responsive where needed.
DURATION
11 months as Independent Contractor Service Agreement (ICSA), with possibility
extension until End of Project.
SUPERVISION AND DIRECTION:
The Reporting & Communication Consultant will report directly to the Deputy
Country Director or designated team members.
