VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!!
National Educational Computing Conference - June 27 - 30, 2005

The National Educational Computing Conference will be in Philadelphia this
year. It is a rare and timely opportunity for area educators to join over
14,000 colleagues from around the nation and world in the premier forum to
see the latest in educational technology, and exchange ideas about learning
and technology with colleagues.
This annual conference=ADpresented by ISTE, co-sponsored by PAECT and keyed=
to
the National Educational Technology Standards (NETS)=ADfeatures hands-on
workshops, lecture-format and interactive concurrent sessions, discussions
with key industry leaders, and the largest educational technology exhibit in
the world. It will be held at the Philadelphia Convention Center.
With over 14,000 expected guests coming to the area, the local committee is
in need of about 800 volunteers to help extend a warm welcome to visitors to
Philadelphia. We will need greeters at the airport and train station on
days preceding the conference, greeters and information kiosk volunteers at
the convention center, transportation greeting/curb-side assistance, and for
social events for the luncheon, Fun Run, tours, Wednesday special events,
Opening Reception, and Dance/social.
You will need to register for the NECC Conference and will be eligible for
the super early bird registration discount =96 you will see a volunteer=
check
off box when you register. Volunteers will be asked to serve in three-hour
blocks, (you may do one block or many) and you will also receive a volunteer
t-shirt and will be invited to a special volunteer reception. This is a
great opportunity to get inside the conference, make new friends, and to be
of service. We need you! We look forward to the best NECC conference ever!
Steps for volunteering:
1. Go to the NECC website at http://center.uoregon.edu/ISTE/NECC2005/ and
review the program to see when you would be available to volunteer.
2. Go to http://www.mciu.org/mciu23/necc2005.html and register to
volunteer. Please indicate what tasks most interest you and when you would
be available.
You will receive an email confirmation in May. Thank you for helping PAECT
and ISTE to host a great Philadelphia NECC! We look forward to seeing you
there!
