************************************************************** Net Happenings - From Educational CyberPlayGround ************************************************************** To: WWWEDU <wwwedu@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> From: Michael Hutchison <mhutch@xxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Sun, 04 May 2003 19:38:04 -0500 Subject: [WWWEDU] PBS TeacherSource forum topic Want to find out about more than 3500 lesson plans and activities for use not only in the social studies classroom, but in every other subject area? Want to be able to match those lessons to state and national standards? Want to find out about great PBS programming that can be used in the classroom? This, and a lot more, will be covered in the May 14 Social Studies forum as we take a "sneak peek" at the new PBS TeacherSource site. The Social Studies forum will be held at 8 p.m. Eastern (5 p.m. Pacific) time in TAPPED IN 2, located at http://www.tappedin.org/new. (Current TAPPED IN members are advised that if they are not currently members of TI2, their usernames and passwords will not work in the new system, and they will need to get a new user name and password for TI2.) Joining host Michael Hutchison for this informative session will be Mary Halnon, director of PBS TeacherSource. Mary will be giving us some insights as to the revamping of the TeacherSource site, and how we can use it in our classrooms. As always, TAPPED IN "help desk" personnel will be on hand to assist new users. It's suggested that new users log in at least 10 minutes prior to the session to get assistance. Persons with questions or needing more information are invited to e-mail Michael Hutchison off list.
