INTERNET ACCESS : DIGITAL DIVIDE: Low-Cost Computers and Computer
Substitutes for Those Not Connected

There is a growing group of options for those lacking internet access and
the use of computers for other purposes, including students and these
options are becoming increasingly affordable. This is particularly
important for the students of the world, as internet and other computer
resource access will greatly expand the tools available to them to improve
their chances of coming closer or reaching their educational potentials.

I have just posted a message to NetGold that cites and excerpts a number
of articles and reports that may be found on the internet about this very
important issue.

The computer has changed many fields, professions and employment roles.
Without training in these skills, the future as productive members of the
economy for children and youths around the world is indeed very bleek.

I have also just posted to the NetGold list a bibliography of article
citations of recent vintage of about the last year or so that bear on
various digital divide aspects, issues and concerns.
