Greetings from Tampa/St. Pete:

We've been hearing a lot about the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS)
for the last couple of years. No mystery as to why. As the
"(p)rincipal fact-finding agency for the Federal Government in the broad
field of labor economics and statistics," It's the source of all those
anxiety-producing economic news releases. You know...the unemployment
rate, the consumer price index, import/export prices,
salaries/wages/benefits...

Besides raw numbers, the BLS also churns out a lot of reports, and we
try to post most of them on DocuTicker. Some recent examples:

* National Compensation Survey: Health and Retirement Plan Provisions
in Private Industry in the United States, 2009
  <http://digbig.com/5bcarw>

* Fact Sheet: Workplace Shootings <http://digbig.com/5bcarx>

* Issues in Labor Statistics: Illness-related work absences during flu
  season <http://digbig.com/5bcary>

* National Compensation Survey: Occupational Earnings in the United
  States, 2009 <http://digbig.com/5bcasa>

The BLS website itself is particularly content-rich. Among other
things you'll find here are such well-known resources as the
Occupational Outlook Handbook <http://digbig.com/5bcasb> and the
Career Guide to Industries <http://digbig.com/5bcasc>.

Have a great week.
