Hi Jim:
This is great and thanks for setting it up!
I should be able to make most Fridays and Saturdays. Looking forward to it!
I echo someone else’s question though, I wasn’t clear from your dates/wording
whether you were starting this Mon (6th) or the following (13th)? It sounded
like the 13th?
Thanks!

Hi guys and gals,
Sounds like good interest in starting some ‘skills developing’ practices
with ‘games after’ sessions.
Just a tentative beginning to try and get things set up.
What about for the rest of May and June (before the heat sets in and we
might begin earlier) Mondays and Tuesdays and Fridays and Saturdays at
Lakeside beginning at !!:00 and doing 45 minutes drill followed by games
until !:30 p.m.? This also frees up the LVR courts, which are already well
used.
There’re lots of pickleball drills on Youtube, but most people are keen for
‘third shot drop’, dinking, shot development and defensive returns.
I see this not as ‘teaching’ but cooperative skills development. In Victoria
there was a core of 3-4 ‘keeners’ who showed up most days, and 5-6 drop-ins
who couldn’t always make it. We kept in touch by texting the day of practice.
We could set up two (or more) nets for relatively ‘newbie’ beginners and for
people with more experience. Many beginners are somewhat discouraged playing
with people who are already somewhat advanced, and some advanced crave more
intense competition.
I’ll be at Lakeside at 11:00 this Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday
(starting on the 12th of May) as a bit of an initial ‘anchor’ and we can
exchange phone/text numbers and add ideas on how to begin this adventure.
All ideas are welcome, different days and times, alternative ways of
organizing things.
Thanks Jim Farley
