Hey guys.
I've just been re-reading the old posts - took me a while to find where
Mandrake had been invited on to a shuttle too.
I really like how this list is still here, and that we're all on the other
end just waiting for something, anything. I guess each month it probably
sends Andy an email asking if it's still valid or something and Andy keeps
saying 'yep - still here - leave me be'?
I thought both of your posts were excellent and I enjoyed reading them very
much.

Angus,
Excellent post, and it was fun to read about Shar again. It also made me
realize that because Shar is/was the Vanguard Chief Security/Tactical
Officer, we saw him in action but rarely had the chance to read about his
thoughts of what was happening around him. Eye opening.
I think you've read the reunion posts to this point, and I know my posts
tend to skip around a lot (flashbacks and flash forwards along with "What
ifs?"). I didn't do a good job explaining Mark's (Mandrake's) situation, but
Cynan has already arrived for the reunion and was invited by some Roebling
officers as they performed some minor, routine duties. I liked how you
played along with my post and Cynan's situation and managed to keep things
light and ambiguous. Nicely done.
I realized later, of course, that it was the perfect opportunity to get
Cynan in trouble and introduce some drama. I have plans for Quetan and
Kavan, as well, but, please, don't let me stop anyone from posting if any of
you have ideas about your characters.
Where I'm going: The Vanguard's former officers are scheduled for a lazy,
perhaps awkward, reunion, but they are being ambushed. By whom? No idea.
Outcome? Not sure.
What I am doing, as I've already discussed, is setting up possibly Santos'
final story. Yes, after ten years, I have an end to Santos' story in mind,
and it's the last thing any of us would have expected when I introduced him
ten years ago. I would love for one final go-around with all our old
friends, but we shall see.
As for the future, Angus expressed some interest in continuing, and I'm
mulling it over myself. Perhaps a "Vanguard: Lost Years"? "Vanguard: New
Voyages"? What do you all think?
