I have found that usually 45 degrees is good for me. Rainy nights actually are really good, especially if they are humid. I usually get no moths when it is windy, mostly because most of my mothing areas are in the open. I'd expect that in the woods it wouldn't really matter. If at dusk it's 35 degrees or below forget it. I notice if I see my breath at night checking the traps there's usually no moths. Any night during winter months that is 40 or above is good mothing . I also noticed that I do get moths on rainy nights if my lights and sheets are under the cover of my deck and the temperature is above 40.. There's very little activity in the open bait traps when it rains. When it's windy forget any collection or photography . Paul
