I have found that usually 45 degrees is good for me. Rainy nights actually
are really good, especially if they are humid. I usually get no moths when
it is windy, mostly because most of my mothing areas are in the open. I'd
expect that in the woods it wouldn't really matter.

I've going through the emails and thought I would add my observations on
the weather. If at dusk it's 35 degrees or below forget it. I notice if I
see my breath at night checking the traps there's usually no moths. Any
night during winter months that is 40 or above is good mothing . I also
noticed that I do get moths on rainy nights if my lights and sheets are
under the cover of my deck and the temperature is above 40.. There's very
little activity in the open bait traps when it rains. When it's windy forget
any collection or photography . Paul
