I just found a draft of Wagner et al Owlet Caterpillars of Eastern North America www.eeb.uconn.edu/.../USDA%20Noctuid%20Guide%20Most%20Current.doc. Under the Lunate Zale species account, they mention that this species is migratory, at least up the east coast. I haven't seen Lunate in several months and I'm wondering if this individual migrated upslope from somewhere down east.
