Tim,
I would love a t-shirt for Whitaker and one for Bayboro. Amazon would be
great.

Appreciate that Alan. If anyone wants to print stickers and give them away,
I have no problem with that whatsoever. I have no problem with the club
using it and that was my original intent, make a mark that that could be
used to promote rocketry in NC.
I have considered posting t-shirts on Amazon with the NC Rockets logo for
anyone to purchase anytime they desire. I would be willing to also post the
old Whitaker design there as well if there was interest. The convenience of
posting on Merch by Amazon is that you can purchase any size, anytime and
have them delivered. The only down side is that Alan will not be able to get
a shirt with a pocket. 😊
I would love a sticker Sam.
Thanks again!

EXTERNAL
We need to remember that the club logo was designed by Tim Cherry, and the
image is his intellectual property. He has given the club permission to
use the image on our website and put the image on the side of our club
trailer, but any further use of the image, ESPECIALLY for commercial
purposes, must go through Tim. I have recently replaced my computer, and
all of my old email addresses were lost in the changeover, but if Tim is
still monitoring this list, perhaps he will step in and outline his
conditions for use.
Allow me a brief moment in the pulpit. Intellectual
property rights include trademarks, patents, copyrights and a general
respect for the work other people have done with their minds. Creativity.
If you are in the business of creating something, and your work is stolen,
then the process of “getting it back” is very complicated and expensive.
Plagiarism, music piracy, copyright infringement, and other forms of
intellectual property theft are hard to prove and generally successful,
because judges and juries in the United States don’t think that working with
your brain is really work. If you sell cars, and somebody steals one of
your cars, the police can track the serial numbers on the car and every jury
in the country would convict the thief. In general, the more money is
involved in the theft, the more the justice system will work to right the
wrong. Scientists, musicians and writers are among the most poorly paid
members of society, so the legal system is not willing to spend much energy
at all in preventing the theft of their “ideas”.
So before we start distributing anything that can be
reproduced for commercial purposes, let’s wait to hear from Tim.

I would love to have one as well. I would be more than willing to pay
postage/shipping to get one up to me or I'm sure Jim would hang on to one
for me and bring it up to NY in the spring.

Hey everyone!
I'm going to reserve one per person until all have had a chance to speak up
because I only had 30 printed. At that number there may or may not be any
extras...
I think they look AWESOME! (see the photo attached). They're 6" round with
the yellow printed to the edge of the decal (the square white part is just
the backing).

I just heard that Sam DeLong has printed up some 6” diameter club logos with
UV-resistant coatings. He will be giving them to people at upcoming launches

to reserve one. swkd2@xxxxxxxxx
I hope to see you next Saturday in Bayboro.
