I have been working with a recording engineer who wants to make high-quality
sound recordings of rocket launches (of all sizes), and is thinking about
coming to our January launch. We have been discussing background noise, and
other things that prevent him from getting the sounds he wants. Do any of
you have some videos of launches [taken from the ground, not on-board] that
have stretches of a few seconds or more before and after the launch.
Recordings made close to the LCO table would not be useful because there
would be the countdown and/or people chattering and commenting on the flight.
Video taken from some distance away from the LCO would be the most
valuable. If you think you have a suitable video, would you please forward
it to me to evaluate and maybe send to the engineer?
