Greetings fellow rocketeers! I hope the COVID holidays have found you
safe and healthy and enjoying them as much as possible under the
circumstances. I don't think we'll have to work very hard to have a
better 2021 but I wish it for you, nonetheless.
It's that time of year again to hold officer elections for the Tripoli
East North Carolina Prefecture (065). As you all probably know, Alan
Whitmore has been our outstanding prefect for the past 15 years. He has
decided it is time for him to step down and turn the reins over to
someone else. We all owe Alan a huge debt of gratitude for his
outstanding service and leadership over the past fifteen years. He has
nominated two individuals for prefect in 2021 - Kurt Hesse and Joe
Hill. Seconds for either or both of these candidates are requested and
required to put their name up for consideration in the election runoff.
If anybody else would like to nominate someone to run as Prefect of
Tripoli East North Carolina, please do so by responding here on
ncrockets@xxxxxxxxxxxxx<mailto:ncrockets@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> by the end of
January 12, 2021.
As for the office of Tripoli East North Carolina Secretary, I again
offer my name in consideration for the office of Secretary in 2021. I
feel that serving once again would lend some continuity to the
prefecture leadership as we transition to a new prefect. Seconds for my
candidacy as Secretary are requested. If anybody else is interested in
nominating someone to run for Secretary, nominations of other Secretary
candidates and seconds are requested and can be done so by responding
here on ncrockets@xxxxxxxxxxxxx<mailto:ncrockets@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> by the
end of January 12, 2021.
Any TRA member subscribed to
ncrockets@xxxxxxxxxxxxx<mailto:ncrockets@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> is eligible to
nominate and vote in the Tripoli East North Carolina officer nomination
and election process. After nominations and seconds are made by the end
of Saturday, January 12, 2021, I will send a communication out on this
same forum requesting votes for the nominated candidates and I will
then outline the voting process.
Just FYI: I plan to recuse myself from counting the election ballots
if my son ends up being a candidate for Prefect. Alan has contacted the
Tripoli Board of Directors and received permission under these special
circumstances to be the vote tabulator in my stead for our election.
The voting procedure will be private and the process will be outlined
in my next email when I announce the official nominees.
If any of the nominees wish to post a brief bio of themselves, why they
would like to serve as Prefect or Secretary, their personal and
rocketry qualifications and perhaps their vision for the rocketry hobby
in general and Tripoli East North Carolina in particular, or address
any other matter relevant to the prefecture election and their
candidacy, those comments will be welcome here at
ncrockets@xxxxxxxxxxxxx<mailto:ncrockets@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> throughout the
nomination and election periods.
