Janet, it doesn't matter what you see or hear about, or what I see or hear
about.....both of our experiences are nothing but tiny drops in the ocean.
Almost everyone I know who got covid was NOT vaccinated....many of them caught
it, and some died, before the vaccine was even available. And yes, I do also
know people who are vaccinated and got it anyway. But here are the facts when
it comes to vaccines (and not just the covid vaccine). Getting vaccinated,
doesn't always prevent you from getting sick. The ultimate goal is prevention
of course, but secondary to that, if you do get sick, its intended to hopefully
only cause a mild version of whatever virus it's supposed to protect you from.
Anyone with any sort of medical/nursing background should know this.
I hear people going on and on about how this person and that person were
vaccinated but still got Covid.....the same can be said about the flu and other
viruses people get vaccinated for. It's not 100%......nothing is 100%. People
are not cookie-cutter beings, we all react differently to any given thing in
life. I shouldn't be by now, but I still never cease to be shocked when I hear
someone say "they were vaccinated but got it anyway", as if that is some sort
of scenario that belongs exclusively to the Covid vaccine.
I have lost friends and family to Covid, I know you are aware of that. The
vaccine was not available during the time frame that most of them got ill. It
was horrific, and gut-wrenching the way all of these people died. And I almost
also lost one of my dearest friends Carmeisha to it.....she laid in the ICU for
weeks hanging onto life as she was pregnant with her latest child. She was not
vaccinated. And I guess because of that, I am quick to get upset when I see
anyone making light of it, saying it's no big deal or it's a government
conspiracy, and not a real thing. In my experience, and again, this is just
what I have lived through.....everyone I know who makes light of Covid, has not
lost anyone to it. And if they know anyone who had it, those folks had a
relatively easy time of it. That is their reality, and I am happy for them
because I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone, but this has not been my
reality. And that's the biggest part of the problem, as I see it. People tend
to base their opinions about this virus on what they experience in their own
little bubbles, regardless of what it is and if it doesn't jive with what
someone else has experienced, they want to sit and debate it.
Every time I have posted that our hospitals are jammed full of Covid patients,
and that tents were being set up again for the overflow, you had a hard time
picturing that, because where you live or where your friend lives it's not that
way. My own niece couldn't find a freaking hospital bed when she was so ill and
my friends elderly mother laid in a hospital ER overflow area in Seattle for 2
days with a broken hip because there were no rooms available and no surgeons!
That scenario is reality up here, and just because someone else has not
experienced that in their home town or has friends somewhere else that haven't
experienced it, doesn't make it less true. Thats where my frustration lays.
After almost 2 years of not having my hair cut, I finally went to Great Clips
about 2 months ago. I think I posted this to our group after this happened. The
gal had a mask on but she was clearly sick (or at least sounded sick). She said
it was allergies but truth be told, I was nervous. We were chatting about this
and that and I mentioned I was waiting for my Covid booster. She proceeded to
tell me that Covid was nothing but a "flu", that no one was going to make her
get vaccinated, and just made light of the entire subject. I was STUNNED.
Understandably, she had no way of knowing that I had lost loved ones to Covid,
but she also didn't know that I hadn't. It took all I could do to sit there,
bite my tongue and let her finish my hair. I will never go back again. All I
could think of were the people I loved, laying in their beds alone, fighting
for their lives and ultimately dying without a single loved one by their
bedside. All I could see was my friend's granddaughter, a healthy young woman
in her early 30's, hooked up to countless tubes, intubated, in an induced coma,
while one organ after another failed. They put her on dialysis but that didn't
help because she was throwing so many blood clots they were getting jammed up
in the tubes. On day 33 she died. Her 3 young children no longer have their mom
and her husband lost the love of his life. In their case, she and her husband
didn't believe in the vaccine and refused to get them. They both caught Covid,
he survived but it ravaged every inch of her body. I watched all this play out
from afar.....that poor girl was literally transformed into someone no one
recognized. She had been a beautiful young woman, but you would have never
guessed it if you saw her after she became ill.
So, when I make a post on here or on my FB page about Covid, it isn't because I
am trying to start a debate, or get people riled up....I am simply passing info
along as I hear about it, in case others have not heard about it yet. Everyone
who reads it has the right to take it or leave it.

Yes I think thar this covid is far more than what you and I can see.
I honestly don’t know one person who has gotten sick who hasn’t been
vaccinated, but I sure see a lot who are. And the pro Vaxers keep saying it
would be much worse if the people who were fully vacinated didn’t get shots. I
just don’t believe that, and they scare me because god only knows what the
vaccination will do in the future. I have never trusted big pharma and will
listen to my naturopath before fauci,
But you are entitled to your opinion, a month ago a friend said to me, wait
till the next covid strain comes. It will even be worse.
All of this is dividing us, the most brilliant people I know, doctors. Vets are
saying this and they are people I totally trust. I don’t believe our government
gives a poop about us, too much to support.

is world-wide, not just the US government. When this was announced, I started
checking with anyone I knew from these other countries (which only covers 3 of
them), and they confirmed this report was factual. They are simply trying to
stop this particular variant from spreading....it's not like all traveling has
been banned, just from certain designated areas where its prevalent. There was
a confirmed report in Canada to though, I feel it's really impossible to stop
something like this because by the time they discover it, thousands (if not
more) people have flown in and out of these areas anyway.
