Oh I absolutely agree with you, I love turtles too and have rescued when
going across roads but I’ve never had one except as a child.
You really show how animated and caring and loving they are…all creatures
are just different, but I believe all are brilliant and have love, but
express it differently. Getting to know Malachi and his antics is awesome 💓

I think I understand what you are saying about wishing people would get
the vax yet those who can’t should retain that right, I’ve never done
vaccines, no one in my family ever has and I think I said, moms twin will
be 101 this November, still plays with his short wave radios too. They do

I am so glad Malachi is better, thank God he has you, he is so special and
has become so animated to me looking at your lovely posts of him,
If the possums can’t be released, can you keep them? I was able to
because I had a wildlife permits I never put the hares down even if they
only had 3 legs and it’s amazing how well the did with just 3 legs and
even one blind and one wirh cataracts. I will keep praying for them and
Malachi, and hope you feel better soon too..

The babies are coming along, I am uncertain what their future will be as I
have some concerns about their condition. Malachi isn't exactly back to
normal, I have to sort of force food into him, but he's not as constipated
as he was. He's alert and active though so that's good. 🙂

Laura, black mold is so horrible, especially to those who are allergic to
it. I had no idea, no hunch til my naturopath told me. I sometimes wondered
why my lips would itch when I was near it and sometimes swell. Actually, I
was so busy working with wildlife, had so many critters, and no help, I
neglected myself.
I agree, the vaccine should not be in politics at all, I just don’t like
it or understand why it is so much. I hear people categorizing people who
don’t do vaccines as trump supporters? I don’t even like trump, but I
don’t like our current president either, I don’t know when we’ve ever had a
good president actually that I was 100% for. And I definitely don’t get
how people lump antivaxers as trump supporters. Yikes…if people want it, I
say go for it, but all people have the freedom to choose and I do not
believe any mandates should be in place. I also believe main stream media
is a big fear culprit and causing so much division amongst people. We need
to stand together and accept each other, fear has no place here, not in a
free society.
Our rescue dog waya hasn’t been sick since we rescued her in 2013 after
our fire. Only spay. She’s still like a puppy, lol and so full of energy
and life. So I haven’t seen that. I did have a neighbor and another one
now whose dog had cancer. I gave one turmeric with pepper and she said her
dogs tumor got smaller and so did another neighbor. One said her vet was
surprised it had shrunk 😊

involved in dog rescue and is older than me. We were commenting on how dogs
used to live such healthy long lives back in the day eating grocery store
kibble and table scraps, and rarely did they need to be seen for health
issues. Now all I hear about is all the many medical conditions they
develop. I saw a lot of that too in almost every dog we have taken in;
heart disease, liver and or thyroid disease, collapsed trachea etc..... I
never saw any of that in the dogs I had growing up or even into my 20's and
30's.

Also, I will say my immune system was totally off balance when I got so
sick with autoimmune disease. But now I know it was triggered by black mold
which I am so allergic too, even my lips go numb if I am exposed and I was
rehabbing animals and cleaning pens where at the very bottom was dirt and
mold and I didn’t wear anything to protect me from the black mold. Then we
moved into a place where there was once a leak I saw the place and found
there was black mold there too. When my sickness began, first pneumonia,
then I continued on til Churg Strauss.

variant, are un-vaccinated people. And the cases in children is rising.
Every virus mutates....that is just what they are designed to do. And like
any other virus, Covid is ever-changing into more dangerous and infectious
variants. The reason ANY virus mutates is because it can...... Let's think
about this on a smaller scale. You take 100 people and you vaccinate them
all. The virus can no longer gain a foothold anymore and is unable to
mutate because there is no longer any hosts that haven't built up
antibodies against it to cause a full-blown nfection. Thats basically a
greatly simplified way of explaining a complex mechanism.
So, you have all the people in the US......let's say 70 are vaccinated.
The 30% who are not, are still the most vulnerable to the virus, and the
virus continues to mutate because there are still available hosts to
infect. I feel like some viruses mutate into more contagious, more
dangerous variants as a built-in survival mechanism.
Think back in history to all the diseases we have learned how to avoid or
eradicate here in the US because of vaccines! Polio, rubella, smallpox, hep
A and hep B, whooping cough, tetanus, rotavirus, mumps, chicken pox,
diptheria etc. If we step on a rusty nail....do not most of us run to get
a tetanus shot if we're not current with having one?
Some vaccines are protocol for children to attend school (unless they have
a medical reason for not having them). Other vaccines are required in order
for people to travel abroad. The thing that puzzles me is why people who
have had all or most of the standard other types of vaccines, are refusing
the Covid vaccine. It makes no sense to me. And again, I am not addressing
the folks who are against all vaccines in general or who cannot have them
due to health issues.
The Covid vaccine has been so politicalized, that I feel this is the
reason why there is so much hysteria over it. It should have nothing to do
with politics or conspiracy theories. I believe the other factor in all
this is the ever-changing information that's put out there, even by our top
scientists. But people need to remember that we're dealing with a virus
that no one fully understands; the medical community can only express their
opinions based on what they know in the moment, and as facts change and
more is learned, that information changes along with it. A lot of people
don't "get that", so when information keeps changing, they start to lose
trust in the source.
The Covid 19 vaccine was created to treat the virus that was prevalent*
at the time*....scientists will likely need to keep altering how it's
made as more and more variants are allowed to keep replicating in order to
maintain its efficacy. Thats just the sad reality of it all. We are dealing
with a special kind of ugly beast with this virus, and until it's beaten
down and no longer allowed to spread and morph, we are not coming out of
this dark tunnel anytime soon.
One last thought; break thru cases. There are some fully vaccinated people
getting sick. This is making headlines simply because of what it is. Covid
19 is BIG news. But NO vaccine is 100%. There are breakthrough cases no
matter what kind of vaccine you are dealing with, but you don't hear about
those because they simply are not that news-worthy. So far, I have not
heard of any people with breakthrough cases dying, and most have not had to
be hospitalized. I am sure eventually there will be exceptions to that as
well, but for the most part, those folks are surviving. I am not so sure
that would be the case had they not been vaccinated.
