DH: Romo yang satu ini seru juga. Dikalimat pertama, dia katakan,
harus ditolak pandangan, bahwa semua agama adalah sama. Mungkin
maksud beliau kita ini "sama benarnya". Jadi_ ditolak...
Di kalimat berikutnya, dia katakan, kita menghargai kebersamaan. Lho
kebersamaan apa? Bahwa agama agama sama benarnya?
Piye to, pakde?
Katanya, hidup dalam kelompok berbeda-bedaa tidaklah mudah. Lho siapa
bilang? Banyak diantara kita hidup dalam keluarga besar yang berbeda
agama, ada yang Islam, ada yang Katholik, ada yang Advent, ada yang
Buddha. Ini malah khas di masyarakat Indonesia. Kok tidak mudah.
Apanya yang tidak mudah?
Tidak mudah, kalau kita anggap, seperti pakde kita ini ajarkan, bahwa
agama tak sama, artinya hanya satu yang benar.. lho ini ngecap no 1
lagi..
Mengenai relativisme, kita baca sikap gereja Katholik, yang diwakili
oleh kardinal Ratzinger (yang kini menjelma menjadi Paus Bewnedikt ke
XVI):

According to the Church and some philosophers, relativism, as a
denial of absolute truth, leads to moral license and a denial of the
possibility of sin and of God.
Relativism, they say, is a denial of the capacity of our mind and
reason to arrive at truth. Truth, according to Catholic theologians
and philosophers, following Aristotle and Plato, is adequatio rei et
intellectus, the correspondence of the mind and reality. Another way
of putting it is: the mind having the same form as reality. This
means when the form of the computer in front of me (the type, color,
shape, capacity, etc.) is also the form that is in my mind, then what
I know is true because my mind corresponds to objective reality.
Relativism, according to the Catholic and Aristotelian viewpoint,
violates the philosophical principle of non-contradiction, a most
fundamental principle of all thinking without which there is no way
to understand each other nor any possibility of science.
The denial of an absolute reference is a denial of God, who is
Absolute Truth, according to these Christian philosophers. Thus, they
say, relativism is linked to secularism, an obstruction of God in
human life.

Sekali lagi dikatakan: "..The denial of an absolute reference is a
denial of God, who is Absolute Truth..". Good, good, tetapi "denial
of God" kan juga dilakukan oleh para penganut agama? Umat Yahudi
lakukan "denial of God"nya umat Kristen dan Islam, lha umat Kristen
lakukan "denial of God" nya umat Islam dan Yahudi, umat Islam
lakukan "denial of God"nya umat Yahudi dan Kristen, dan seterusnya..
Jadi, apa hanya kaum Relativist yang lakukan "denial" itu?
"Relativismejustru tidak pluralistik dan juga tidak toleran. Karena
menuntut agama-agama melepaskan dulu bahwa mereka benar," kata pakde
Magnis. Lho, mereka kan katakan, kita lepaskan dulu, bahwa mereka
PALING benar. Atau satu satunya yang benar. Lha cak., salahe opo?
"adequatio rei et intellectus", pakde Magnis, OK, tapi "rei et
intellektus" kita masing masing? jadi, ya lalu dimana itu pluralisme?
Yang plural itu apanya? Jadi romo setuju pluralisme atau tidak?
