Kaum kreasionis bikin museum

Ada-ada saja ide kaum kreasionis. Mereka ternyata tak ada matinya. Gempurannya 
terhadap kaum evolusionis kini memasuki wahana wisata dan hiburan dalam bentuk 
sebuah museum. Namanya: Museum of Creation. Berlokasi di Kentucky, AS, tiap 
penonton dikutip tiket 10 dollar AS (sekira Rp 90,000). Tak mau ada klaim dan 
pemikiran orang bahwa sudah ada makhluk hidup sebelum Adam dan Hawa diciptakan 
Tuhan, maka berbagai macam model dinosaurus dalam ukuran yang sebenarnya pun 
dipajang di museum itu. Model makhluk raksasa yang dirancang mantan karyawan 
Universal Studios ini lalu dijejer dengan patung sosok manusia, dan diberi 
keterangan bahwa dinosaurusdiciptakan pada tahun 6,000 Sebelum Masehi - tepat 
dengan perkiraan tahun dimana Tuhan menciptakan Adam dan Hawa. 

Padahal menurut para ilmuwan, berdasar hasil penelitian dari temuan fosil, 
makhluk berjuluk dinosaurus tersebut sudah berkeliaran di Bumi sejak 220 juta 
tahun lalu, kemudian punah sekira 63 juta tahun lampau. 

Sebagaimana kita tahu, isi Alkitab sama sekali tak menyebut tentang
keberadaan makhluk dinosaurus yang pernah merajalela di Bumi. Bahkan
sebelum abad 18 M, tak ada orang tahu bahwa dinosaurus pernah hidup di bumi. 
Beberapa orang menemukan tulang atau gigi dinosaurus, tetapi tidak mengetahui 
itu apa. Baru pada 1822, Mary Ann Mantell - isteri dokter Gideon Mantell di 
Inggris - menemukan fosil tulang belulang, lalu diteliti secara seksama dan 
disimpulkan bahwa tulang belulang tersebut berasal dari hewan yang pernah hidup 
jutaan tahun lampau.

Pembangunan museum yang digagas oleh Ken Ham dari organisasi 'Answer in 
Genesis' ini diperkirakan menelan biaya sekira 25 juta dollar AS. Menurut 
perusahaan riset pemasaran yang dikontrak oleh Museum of Creation, museum 
tersebut diprediksi akan dijejali sekira 300,000 
pengunjung pada tahun pertama beroperasi. Mereka optimistis angka tersebutdapat 
tercapai, mengingat begitu besarnya minat masyarakat terhadap film Jurassic 
Park yang pernah dirilis Hollywood.

Oh manusia, kalau sudah punya mau, alur kisah kehidupan - bahkan zaman 
pra-sejarah pun gampang saja dibelokkan sesuai selera yang punya uang dan yang 
punya kuasa.........

tourist attraction might look like the ideal destination for fans of the film 
Jurassic Park. 

The new multi-million-dollar Museum of Creation, which will open this spring in 
Kentucky, will, however, be aimed not at film buffs, but at the growing ranks 
of fundamentalist Christians in the United States. 

It aims to promote the view that man was created in his present shape by God, 
as the Bible states, rather than by a Darwinian process of evolution, as 
scientists insist. 

The centrepiece of the museum is a series of huge model dinosaurs, built by the 
former head of design at Universal Studios, which are portrayed as existing 
alongside man, contrary to received scientific opinion that they lived millions 
of years apart. 

Other exhibits include images of Adam and Eve, a model of Noah's Ark and a 
planetarium demonstrating how God made the Earth in six days. 

The museum, which has cost a mighty $25 million (£13 million) will be the 
world's first significant natural history collection devoted to creationist 
theory. It has been set up by Ken Ham, an Australian evangelist, who runs 
Answers in Genesis, one of America's most 
prominent creationist organisations. He said that his aim was to use tourism, 
and the theme park's striking exhibits, to convert more people to the view that 
the world and its creatures, including dinosaurs, were created by God 6,000 
years ago."

"Market research companies hired by the museum are predicting at least 300,000 
visitors in the first year, who will pay $10 (£5.80) each."
