Thanks for the info Snow and many thanks to all the people that worked on the
courts today. Wish I could've been able to help but unfortunately had other
responsibilities.ShereeSent from my U.S.Cellular© Smartphone

and Celebration
Hello dear Picklers in North and South Siskiyou,
We had an amazing surprise this weekend when Ken and Aaron organized 2 painting
parties
In Montague. On Saturday, the work began with Pete, Ken, Aaron and Tito (if I
missed anyone,
please LMK).
Today, the work continued with Ken’s wonderful supervision. I wish to
especially acknowledge
Ted and Shirley for not only being among the very first to arrive at 8:30
o’crack of dawn, but also being the very last to leave at 3:00PM….Wow!!....Such
Dedication
I also wish to acknowledge that our special friends from Mt. Shasta showed up
for us….which
always blows my mind…Ken (one of the most amazing humans I’ve had the honor of
knowing
In this lifetime.)and Brenda and Lee.
From North County also: John, Tiffany, Sally, Aaron, Leslie and yours truly.
So, the courts will not be available tomorrow, Monday and I’ll let Ted or
Shirley email
you tomorrow night to let you know the status as I will be out of town.
Pamela will check on Y availability of gym for Monday and Wednesday and she
will email
the group and let you know as soon as she gets an answer.
We have a lot to celebrate and much to appreciate. Please be sure to thank each
and everyone
of our hard working players for showing up. I know many of you would have come
if you had had more notice. Such is life. Let’s be in appreciation for the
wonderful work and success that has been accomplished.
With warm gratitude,
I am,
Snow

Sorry, I didn’t make it clear that the work on the courts we are doing is in
Montague, not Mt. Shasta.
230 S. 13th St. Montague, CA
For those in Mt. Shasta, it’s about a 30 minute drive north.

Had fun today with a great group of folks. Afterward playing, Aaron, Tito, Pete
and I started the painting. I repaired the chipped area and associated cracks
on the northwest court yesterday so we first ground it smooth. Then we lined
out the 4th court
on the northeast corner. Interestingly, we discovered the two courts (one
permanent net, the other without a net on the south end were 2 inches short! So
if you ever served a long ball there it may have been good! We then painted all
the kitchens a beautiful
blue, and all the service areas a dark green (“NovaGreen”). They look amazing.
Tomorrow we are going to finish the surrounding areas with a lighter green
(“Grass Green”) and could use some help. We used squeegees to spread the paint,
rather than rolling it on like we did in Mt. Shasta. Squeegees are much
better!! But they
really take some skill. Steve Sluss, the professional who did the Mt. Shasta
courts, makes it look so easy. But Aaron and I sort of have it down now.
What we need are people who will mix paint and help pour it on so we can spread
it. Do some next-to-the-line rolling, carry water, do clean up, keep leaves off
(they keep falling on all the time). We could use 3 or 4 people. We plan to
start
at 8:30.
The nets are off. We bought two new nets with the money you raised at your
scramble. We hope to get the lines painted tomorrow too. If we do, then we can
install the new nets, and the old tennis net separator.
But if we don’t get it finished it may mean the courts are out of service until
we can finish the lines. That’s why extra help would be nice.
