CONVERSATION BETWEEN PETE & BRANDON
FROM PETE
Brandon,
It sounds to me like some are not aware that people have played pickleball
regularly on Thursday night in the past. I have not been there on a Thursday
night recently, but when I did go, I know there were quite a few players. I
don’t think many of the morning players ever go during the evening, but I do
think a lost night time to play pickleball for our working crew and Y members
will be missed.
I know that once the weather gets bad, or it gets too dark to play outside in
the evening, there will be a high interest in evening play at the Y again. If
you could give the p-ballers 1-3 nights/ week in the gym that would be much
appreciated. Since the group plays Tu, Th & Saturday at the Y in the mornings.
It would make the most sense to play on Monday, Wednesday, or Friday nights.
Any of those nights that could work would be great. It would really be nice to
have at least two nights, maybe Monday and Friday.
I will communicate with the group the nights and time that you give us to play,
when that is decided. Thanks for your consideration.
Thanks,
Pete Morrill
An active P-baller at the Y
BRANDON’S RESPONSE
Hi Pete,
We have basketball open gym on Mondays and volleyball open gym on Wednesdays.
Fridays should be open but I will confirm with evening staff and get back to
you ASAP. I know this is a fast growing sport so I want to give the community
as much chance to play at the Y as possible!
Thanks,
Brandon

Subject: Pickle ball Thursday Evenings and Nov Gym use Update
Hi Everyone,
I hope this email reaches you well. I just wanted to let you know that YMCA
Youth Basketball League will be starting on November 15th Tuesday and Thursday
Nights. We have a conflict with Thursday PB open gym. Would anyone like to move
that open gym time to say maybe Friday? Or, since the turnout has been a little
low, maybe take the night off during that day of the week for about 5 weeks? I
am open to any suggestions ☺.
The YMCA was also approached to partner with Siskiyou County Office of Ed. to
bring in an American Ninja Warrior course for the week of November 7th-November
12th for afterschool programing. The ink is not dry on it but we would need to
close the gym so the schools can come and enjoy the course. I’m sorry for any
inconvenience. My hope is the weather might be mild so there could be other
opportunities to play outside that week.
Feel free to contact me anytime! Have a great day.
Thanks,
Brandon
