Hello everyone,
I've been to see Grandma today - not too much to report other than what you've
reported on previous visits! We were outside in the garden for about 20
minutes before she got cold and went back in, but she seemed fine (even despite
her longer hair than usual!) and we were talking about different places in
Newcastle/Tynemouth etc. Think it's obviously very confusing to her that we
have to have the masks on (but no apron today), and she kept trying to hug me
at the start/end which was very difficult to tell her she couldn't.
Otherwise, conversation seemed fairly similar to how it was pre-lockdown - a
few of the usual repetitions and asks to remind her of my name every 10 minutes
or so, but that was true back in February too. Was nice to see her!
Let me know next time there's a free slot, happy to go again.
Dave.

Subject: [mutti] Mutti Visit Today
Hi All,
I went to see Mutti this morning. It was a bit chilly and dull so the carer
took me through the garden into a room with the door open where I sat at one
end of a table whilst she fetched Mutti.
I had to wear an apron as well as the mask.
Mutti was pleased to see me, smiled and knew who I was. She also knew who I
meant when I told her all who sent their love, family here and in N Yorkshire
plus Janice her neighbour she had taught.
She was a bit vague about what she had been doing, eg. I asked about the
singalongs, but she said the food was good and she was being well looked after.
BUT when I mentioned she had talked to Roz and Ian on Skype she recognised the
word and seemed to remember doing that. She also remembered the little robots
that we used to see on our walks around Kents Hill.
She kept saying “it’s a funny old world at the moment”.
I left a few items eg tissues at reception to give her later.
It was so hard not hugging her. She blew me a kiss as I left.
Glenys.
