Hi All,
I thought I would start off with giving you all a daily update of how we all
are and what we have been up too,
So as you know, we have closed the home and are not having visitors, however,
if your loved one is on End of Life I have authorised for the relatives to
visit. We will still be having contractors in the home but for emergency only.
I have said that you can
still take your loved one out for a walk, drive etc, but I would advise not to
go community areas. (Although I know this is easier said than done).
So, today has been extremely busy with answering phone calls and emails from
yourselves.
May I please ask you to think of us as a whole, we have got your loved ones to
keep safe and well in this situation and we will keep you up-dated daily, so
please can you take into consideration, that we have got a home to run and all
I have done all day is
spent the whole day taking phone calls, answering emails reassuring relatives,
when I need to be looking after the staff, home and residents. (Moan over).
So, For dinner we have had beef and red wine pie, mash and veg and apple and
pear crumble with custard for Pudding.
On the dementia Unit, they had a film on (Dads Army) the staff have had Abba
and rock and roll on on this afternoon, and everyone has been dancing. The
staff are just getting them ready for bed now in there nightclothes to have
some supper and settle down in
the lounge all cosy for the evening.
Nursing floor we have had an Outing and on residential we have had a good old
sing a long. Some of the residents also went out in the garden.
I know it is very worrying, as it is for us all, we do not know what will
happen and it is the anticipation that does worry me more.
However, we will carry on, all residents at present are fit and well.
I am going down the route of trying to boost there immunity and Lee is adding
garlic, onions to dishes and turmeric where he can and also we are pushing
fluids as always.
I have developed a contingency plan,but again this is and will be changing
daily. We are also deep cleaning all the touch surfaces with Chlorine tablets
and I have anticipated previously re; stock and we have 5 weeks stock in place,
and will continue to order
weekly.
The staffs Infection control training has been re-set for them to complete and
I have been carrying out hand washing audits on all the staff.
Please be assured that I will do my upmost best to keep them safe and well,
including taking care of the staffs health and welfare.
I will be compiling a list also of relatives that may be able to help if the
staff start being sick, some relatives have offered
already which is amazing and I say tongue in cheek that I hope that I will not
have to use your services...

If you think of anything at all please let me know, I want to prevent them as
much as possible getting this damn thing
