Plan for Thursday 22nd Aug is Ben Ledi.
Proper hill (Corbett) but has great path and if, as seems likely, it is showery
/ windy then should still be fun and not too much of a trachle.
Walk highlands website has good description
https://walkhighlands.co.uk/lochlomond/ben-ledi.shtml
Walk is 10km, 760m ascent, likely will take us around 4-5hrs.
Car park is 4-5km north of Callander, where you turn left off A84 to cross over
a bridge then immediately left again (grid ref NN587091).
Drive takes about 1hr from Bearsden so suggest leave around 9am, get there for
about 10am, and aim to set off walking by 1015.
If we have coffee and bun afterwards (eg Laide Inn) we should still be home
comfortably by 5pm.
You will need hat and gloves, waterproofs, couple of warm layers (temp at Munro
level this week is 5-7C but with wind chill effective temp below zero) and
packed lunch.
I have several OS maps – but if you also have one I suggest bring it so we have
a few in the group.
Lots of people were keen so we should have a nice group. Hill is also good one
for dogs.
Any last minute issues you can get me on my mobile 07801199910.
Looking forwards to it!
David

Subject: hillwalking
I’ve been muttering to some of you about setting up a monthly (or thereabouts)
hillwalk – with ‘normal’ non heroic outings that would be suitable for a mixed
group (and dogs).
Dates that would work for me are Thursday 22nd Aug, Wednesday 25th September
and Monday 21st October.
Target outings that come to my mind include Beinn Bheula in Cowal, Meall
Ghaordaidh in Glen Lochay, Beinn na Lap (train to Corrour) – but other
suggestions welcome.
So if you are interested suggested pencil into your diary and I would circulate
final plans around 5 days before each walk.
Kind Regards, David
