Good morning!
It’s Leslie from Redding. I just want to give a huge shout out to the entire Mt
Shasta PB Group. It’s so inspiring to encounter a group that is so well
organized, talented and enthusiastic about the game of PB.
As the USA-P North State District Ambassador I am so grateful to Marian for
doing such a great job as Ambassador in Dunsmuir and Mt Shasta (and for
recommending me for the job of District Ambassador). Your mastery of the game,
commitment to clarity and communication as well as your enthusiasm and love of
the game is absolutely Golden. Thank you for your service and best wishes to
you and Guy moving forward.
Ken and Marian, thank you for reaching out to your group looking for the
perfect person to step into the role of Ambassador in Mt Shasta and for
explaining the duties and benefits of the position. And thanks to all of you
for considering this new opportunity to share your love of the game with
others. If you have any questions for me please feel free to reach out any
time. My cell number is: 530-356-7926.
Again, thank you Marian and the entire Mt Shasta Club. You are awesome!
All the best-
Leslie Golden

You are 100% correct Jan and Dan. Which is why before Ken BS sent out the
notice for a volunteer, he approached Sooz to inquire whether she wanted to
take on the role. For a variety of reasons, Sooz felt she couldn't take it on
at this time.
Sooz is a great ambassador for our sport and is an amazing public relations
maven. She has been and continues to be a great promoter of our sport within
our town and gets us publicity in the newspapers all the time. She's also
looking for new players wherever she goes.
Thank you Sooz for every single thing you do. We love you!

Thank you Ken for putting this notice out. I would like to add a few things.
As Ken points out, your pickleball skill level is not a condition of
becoming an Ambassador.
The most important aspects are your enthusiasm for the game and your
willingness to grow the sport by encouraging and welcoming new players.
One of the fun ways I've welcomed new players is to notice folks in the
parking lot watching us and approach them asking if they'd like to learn
about what we're doing. It's how we got Dea Fryer to play. She sat in her
car watching us a few times and I finally coaxed her out of the car and onto
the court. That was the start of a great friendship for all of us.
There are some perks when you are an official Ambassador of the USAP too.
One is many of the paddle manufacturers grant a heavy discount on their gear
to Ambassadors. Plus, the USAP will often send notices about new things to
Ambassadors before sending to the general membership. You also get business
cards and invitations to Ambassador Retreats (held in Lake Tahoe in the
West, and a Club Med in Florida in the east. Those retreats are chockfull of
information and tons of pickleball.)
If you have any questions, pop marian@xxxxxxxxxx a note and I'll answer any
of your questions.

With Marian moving to Coos Bay, we are not only losing out coach and
greatest advocate, but also our USAPA Ambassador. The Ambassador program is
an important part of spreading the word about pickleball in the community,
connecting with players from other cities, and fostering pickleball
development. Here is some thing from the USAPA website:

of pickleball.
Below are the links you will need to apply to the Ambassador Program, as

Is anyone interested in becoming our new Ambassador? You don’t have to be an
expert player but do have to like to support pickleball to others.
If interested please let me know.
